Park Mi Won Solo Exhibition 《E…
GALLERY WALD, EXHIBITION This exhibition presents Miwon Park’s “Folk Nouveau,” reconfiguring the iconminhwa (Korean folk painting) through a contemporary lens under the keyword Eastrange (East + Strange). With high-chroma suganchae (water-based pigments), crisp lines, and planar compositions, traditional motifs—Sun-Moon-Five Peaks, tiger and magpie, and the twelve zodiac animals—are reborn in images where the familiar and the unfamiliar coexist.Visitors are invited to follow the moment when color’s vitality extends traditional apotropaic imagery into a contemporary charm, experiencing a new sensibility in which protection and blessing meet humor and verve. ArtistPark Mi Won ※ Venue: Gallery Wald(Lotte Mall Suji Branch, 5th Floor)※ Date: Nov 03 (Mon) – Nov 29 (Sat)※ Opening Hours- Weekdays 09:00 – 18:00- Saturday 09:00 – 13:00Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and public holidays are by appointment only.

Kim Kyoung Yi Solo Exhibition …
GALLERY WALD, EXHIBITION This exhibition begins with the memories that Kim Kyoung Yi built in nature during her childhood. Growing up in a rural village, she would whisper her dreams to the poplar tree beside the front gate and look down over the town from the low hill behind her home. Those experiences return to her canvases today through countless layers of paint and carefully tuned color. The flowers in her works are not mere depictions; they are metaphors for hope, lifting their faces toward the light. Her saturated palette and vigorous brushwork reveal both the vitality of nature and the longing within. Meanwhile, the village scenes—people walking down alleys, smoke rising from chimneys, sunlight settling on rooftops—are rendered with playful compositions and rich hues, summoning the warmth of a shared community.Kim’s paintings are a space where reality meets imagination, and memory touches the present. Just as she once found hope in the moonlight, viewers are invited to discover comfort and dreams within her works. More than a simple representation of scenery, this exhibition welcomes audiences into an experience that resonates deep within the heart. ArtistKim Kyoung Yi ※ Venue: Gallery Wald(Lotte Mall Suji Branch, 5th Floor)※ Date: Oct 06 (Mon) – Nov 01 (Sat)※ Opening Hours- Weekdays 09:00 – 18:00- Saturday 09:00 – 13:00Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and public holidays are by appointment only.

GAHYEONWON(佳昡苑) Group Exhibiti…
GALLERY WALD, EXHIBITION  “Gyubang Craft” – The Art of Korea’s Beautiful Hand-StitchingGyubang Craft is one of Korea’s cherished cultural heritages, passed down through generations of women who gathered in the “gyubang” — the women’s quarters of traditional Korean households. These women used needle and thread to craft not only clothing but also everyday items, transforming utility into artistry. With naturally dyed fabrics, they created hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) and bedding. Leftover scraps were repurposed into bojagi (wrapping cloths) and pouches — vibrant, functional pieces that reflected both resourcefulness and aesthetic sensibility.Among them, jogakbo (patchwork bojagi) stands out as a unique form of artistic expression, embodying the elegance and creativity of Korean tradition. These patchworks, often used for wedding ceremonies or ornamental purposes, reveal a harmony of color, form, and emotion. “佳昡苑 Gahyeonwon” – A Garden of Radiant BeautyAs we gaze upon the dignified glow of jogakbo, stitched together from tiny pieces of fabric, it feels as though we are witnessing a blooming garden — with humble wildflowers, vividly colored blossoms, and butterflies fluttering in to visit.Captivated by this delicate beauty, we found ourselves stitching together both fabric and time. Piece by piece, fragment by fragment, we’ve created our bojagi works — infusing each one with the spirit of Korea’s elegant tradition, and shaping them with the refined techniques of traditional hand-sewing.But these works are not confined to artistic display alone. Our aspiration is to let this traditional beauty naturally flow into everyday life, blending heritage and contemporary sensibility through a variety of creative forms. From the hands of women in the past, with traces of time embroidered in thread...May the beauty of Korean traditionlive on in radiant patchworks, leaving a shimmering legacy for years to come. | ※ Venue: Gallery Wald (Lotte Mall Suji Branch, 5th Floor)※ Date: June 16 (Mon) – July 05 (Sat)※ Opening Hours- Weekdays09:00 – 18:00- Saturday09:00 – 13:00Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and public holidays are by appointment only.[이 게시물은 ADMIN님에 의해 2025-07-18 10:03:43 Exhibition-Current에서 이동 됨]

Warmth
There are times, in the midst of creation, when I feel as though I’m constantly standing at a threshold. No one has drawn a line, yet I hesitate—unable to step beyond the boundaries I’ve unconsciously set for myself. There are countless things that keep me from feeling free. The frustration and lack that arise from such constraints become, paradoxically, the very reasons I continue to take slow, deliberate steps forward. In my works, the figures often offer comfort—either to each other or to themselves. They sometimes prompt viewers to reflect on the nature of relationships.I intentionally refrain from defining a specific narrative or emotion.By doing so, I leave space for each viewer to interpret the work freely, through the lens of their own experiences, values, and emotional state.I gain energy from the solitude of working alone.Through the repeated process of layering, painting, and firing—six or seven times over—I encounter outcomes that are both unexpected and new. When I slowly build a form with clay, I approach it as if it might be the last piece I ever make. But the moment I place it in the kiln, I let it go.Sometimes I can’t even recall what I had created.Silently. Unhurriedly. Unattached.I simply place another piece of clay in my hand, and begin again.
